Après un baccalauréat en économie, elle part pour 18 mois en Côte d’Ivoire enseigner l’art dans une école privée . Elle étudie la peinture et la lithographie à l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris où elle obtient son diplôme en 1982 . Elle va vivre et travailler pour un an à Londres puis 4 ans à Kuala Lumpur, Malaisie, où elle fait de nombreuses expositions, enseigne le français à l’Alliance Française et publie un livre de peintures, photos et poèmes. De retour à Paris, elle commence à faire du journalisme en parallèle avec son art . Depuis 1991, elle partage son temps entre la France et l’Italie .

Nombreuses expositions d’art personnelles et collectives en France, Italie, Angleterre, Espagne, Belgique, pays est-européens, Malaisie, Thailande, Argentine, Turquie, Japon, USA, Canada.

1er prix de lithographie au miniprint international de Cadaqués, Espagne, en 1999 .

Marie Dargent was born in Nancy, France.

After her baccalaureat and a year in art college, she spent 3 years in the Fine Arts School of Paris (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris), and then went to live and teach art in Abidjan, Ivory Coast . After one and a half years, she came back to the Fine Arts School of Paris in the print-making section . She graduated in 1982 and spent one year in London, England, working in lithography . From 1982 to 1985, she lived and worked in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she had many solo exhibitions, taught French at the Alliance Française and published a book of paintings, photographs and poems . She now lives part of the year in France and part in Italy .
